friday's fancies #55

pretty in pastels

I'm loving pastels right now, so this week's Friday's Fancies theme was perfect.
The light turquoise pants, that's definitely my color. I have so many items in a similar shade.
The Essie nail polish is a must! The color is described as a soft cherry blossom pink,
which sounds so pretty.

This look includes:
Daisy Sunshine Necklace from Banana Republic

making goals

 photo IMG_0302_zps33ae08d4.jpg
I've been crazy busy these past couple of weeks, but it looks like next week I'll finally
get to slow down a bit. This past weekend I got to hang out with one of my friends and we got
to making a little goal list. Not exactly resolutions, since it's way past that time, but a few
things that I've been really wanting to do.

1. Work out everyday till July!
I really need to get into a consistent workout schedule. This plan isn't to have a hardcore
workout session everyday, but to at least be active everyday for the next 3 months.

2. Go walking on Sundays.
This is kind of in combination with the goal above. My friend and I are planning to
go walking each Sunday. There's a park behind one of the libraries here, which is so
pretty and has a really nice pathway. So excited for this and the nice weather.

3. Have a big dinner once a month.
I really like to cook, but I hate cooking for one. It really is just hard to do. So, once a
month I would like to invite some friends over and make a really awesome dinner!

4. Plan a trip to Palm Springs (or other similar destination)!
I'm dying to travel somewhere new. Palm Springs doesn't seem like too big a stretch in
money or distance, so I would love to have a girls' weekend there. This probably wouldn't
happen till early next year sometime, but it's always good to have some sort of plan in place.

What goals do you have for this year?

spring has sprung!

I think it's safe to assume that we are all really ready for spring!
This outfit is kind of an explosion of colors, but sometimes that's a good thing.
I am seriously in love with that Kate Spade floral scarf! It is amazing.
I'm also really getting into the color yellow. Happy, sunshiny yellow.

This look includes:
The Essex Tote from Madewell (similar)
Demi Earrings from Stella & Dot

wishing wednesday #13

I definitely have spring on the brain, so this week I'm wishing for this dress.
 photo image1xxl_zps08e2eabd.jpg
This dress is so pretty and I am loving the floral print! I can imagine it being so cute with a
denim or leather jacket. Really, the possibilities are endless.  Now if only the weather would cooperate,
but given that my hometown has already hit 100 degrees this week (and it's only March) it makes
the cooler weather a teensy bit okay. Makes me wonder what summer has in store for Texas. Yikes!

fact #5

I'm not big on sweets. I like them, of course, but I don't usually crave them.
A few weeks ago though, I went to see a play that my cousin was in.
It was at a small theater, and during intermission they baked cookies! That's right,
fresh baked cookies! You could smell them in the entire theater and it was amazing.
So I would agree with fact #5, fresh baked cookies make life better.

This past weekend I finally got to go to another Portland Bloggers event.
The event was a style shoot to give us tips and tricks of taking better photos of ourselves,
while also having our pictures taken by local photographers.

My photographer was Alex. I love the photos she took! I mean, those jumping shots can be a
pain to capture, but she did a really amazing job! Check out her facebook page, here.

This Wednesday I'm wishing for spring.
Spring will be here very soon, but this year I'm really looking forward to it.
Especially looking forward to all the pretty flowers it brings, like those gorgeous lilacs.

vancouver fashion week

You might have noticed a new sponsor button on the left there.
 photo VFW_FW2013_web_zpsc2c7e090.jpg
"Vancouver Fashion Week is a diverse and innovative fashion experience that features both
established and emerging designers worldwide. We are the 2nd largest fashion event in
North America, next to New York Fashion Week.  There will be more than 55 designers
participating at VFW, from 14 countries, and 26 cities. We are proud to say that well known
designers, such as Takashi Aqzawi (Japan), Mirae Kim (Korea), Jacom Kimmie (South Africa),
Jaya Misra (India), and Laend Phuengkit (Germany) will showcase their remarkable
designs at VFW 2013."

Sounds awesome, right?!
Now I know for most of us, we won't be able to attend. Sad day.
Don't fret though, we can all watch it live online (here)!
