friday's fancies #38

totally me

This week is all about what you would wear, like in real life.
Personally, I'm one for scarves and I have a lot (and convince others they should have more than one too). Far more than any person from Texas should have, but I'm in the Pacific Northwest now so it's okay.
There's something about gray sweaters that I love. Sweaters and the color gray, for me, is just cozy.
I tend to keep things simple and let my accessories stand out, even the nail polish.
I'm, also, having a moment with keeping jewelry minimal. So, that's my style right now.
What's something that makes your

wishing wednesday #6

This week, I'm wishing that all weddings have a fire pit with cozy blankets at their reception. Okay, maybe not all weddings, but you catch my drift. It really is such a cute idea. Someone should do this and invite me!
Yes or yes!

fall day

Here are some more pictures that I took the other day.

Sometimes it's a little difficult to have a day without rain, but that was a beautiful fall day.
This is definitely my favorite time of year.

Yeah, I definitely need to work on this.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and thanks for the sweet comments last week!

wishing wednesday #5

Today has not been great. It's not at all how I would like to go into my Thanksgiving holiday, which is a favorite of mine. These days everything feels like I'm taking one step forward and two steps back. Constantly.
I'm hoping one of these days, I'll finally catch a break.
Anyway, enough of that. This Wednesday, I'm wishing that all of you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! Also, that you have lots of pie and leftovers for days, cause that's one of the best parts.

a decision

For some time now, I've been debating whether or not to sell some of my photos. So, this weekend I decided to join Society6 and do just that.

These are only some of the items you can purchase. There are a lot more options you can check out here!
Hope you guys like them!

On this very, dreary day, this art print is perfect.
(There's some crazy, windy, rainy weather going on over here. We, also, have a flood warning.)
So go forth and make limoncello!

friday's fancies #37

This week the theme is must-have autumn treats.

chocolate chip pumpkin muffins

My favorite autumn treat (but I'll eat no matter the season, they are just that good) are chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. Here is the recipe. Go right now, like right now, and make yourself a batch of these muffins, because they are amazing! (I'm not exaggerating.)
Anyway, besides my love for those muffins, I'm loving the rust colored dress from Modcloth. I, also, love the color of the nail polish from Julep and the bag from Coach. Seriously, that is one great bag.

holiday cards

The holidays will be here before we know it! So, it's time to talk about holiday cards.
Minted contacted me to review their holiday photo cards and let me tell you, I had a hard time picking my favorites. There's just so many options!
Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
These cards are adorable!
While looking at all the cards I realized, that everyone should have a family photo in flannel shirts and all couples/newlyweds should get the card with the mistletoe above the picture.
But besides that, Minted has lots of options for your holiday cards. Different borders, backings, paper, and much more, that will make your cards unique and special. What makes Minted really cool though, is that all the designs are from a global community of independent graphic designers. They even have monthly design challenges!
So go and check out all that they have to offer!

I'm wishing for pie, guys. This exact pie.
It's a pumpkin cream pie with a gingersnap crust. Talk about delicious!
Since Thanksgiving is next week (next week! omg!), maybe I'll try to make it.

Now I need to go get ready for zumba class.
(which is just a tiny bit ironic)

taking pictures

This past weekend, me and my friend decided to go take some pictures. It was a pretty day, although quite cold. I, also, got some outfit shots. Well, kind of.

Fall is coming to an end and I'm kind of sad about it. Time has just gone by way too quickly. Before I know it, my parents will be here visiting me for their holiday break.
Anyway, I took lots more pictures this weekend and I'll share them with you in another post.

Happy Tuesday!

spin wildly

This is one of my absolute favorite quotes.
It's from the show Everwood, which came out in it's been awhile.
From what I remember, it was a pretty good show. Emily VanCamp from Revenge and Chris Pratt from Parks and Rec are in it (random fact). You can rent most of the seasons on Netflix now, and I think I might just do that.

Have a great week!

friday's fancies #36

Get ready for s'mores!

bonfire beauty
Sitting around a bonfire is all about being cute and cozy, and for me, this outfit is it.
I've been dying to get my hands on that vest from J.Crew and that beanie is adorable! I tried it on while browsing Anthropologie last week and I definitely wanted to take it home with me. Anthro is really a dangerous place to just be browsing. I also love the Essie polish, which is called Beyond Cozy. Quite fitting, don't you think?

Have a wonderful weekend!

the bar method

This post has nothing to do with drinks, far from it.
In the past few months, I gained a few more pounds than I would have liked. So given that I'm relatively unemployed at the moment, I've been using a lot of my time to work on my fitness.
Last week, I finally got to try a barre class!
If you're not sure what a barre class is, here's the description from The Bar Method website:
"integrates the fat burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping technique of isometrics, the elongating principles of dance conditioning, and the science of physical therapy to create a revolutionary new workout that quickly and safely reshapes your entire body."
It is quite a workout and I was pretty sore the day after.
Overall, I really liked the class and would highly recommend trying it out!
Fun Fact: The woman in the picture above is a Bar Method teacher here in Portland.
Not in Portland?? There's 65 other studios in different states and BC Canada.
See if there's one close to you, here.
The Bar Method isn't the only place you can get a barre workout and they're all a little bit different.
Here's an article that gives you a description of them.

So, what do you think?
Would you try a barre class? Have you already?

wishing wednesday #3

If you saw my post yesterday, then you know I'm missing traveling.
While going abroad is a long way off from now, there's still a ton of places to visit here in the US.
So, this week I'm wishing to visit...
Leavenworth, Washington!
This cute town was remodeled years ago to resemble a Bavarian town.
It's a little bit of Europe in Washington and that's awesome!
Hopefully, I can visit it soon! It's only a 5 hour drive from Portland.
Check out more about this town at Christine in Spain!

travel tuesday: missing it

I miss Travel Tuesday posts. I miss traveling.
Sometimes I go through my pictures and find ones that I didn't really notice before.
They are amazing, or maybe they are amazing because I miss it.
All of these are of Greece.
It's been 3 years since I was studying abroad there. 3 years!
And I have to say, these pictures make me feel like I got some photography skills.
Taken BC (before {slr} camera) and I haven't edited them either
Well two of them were a bit crooked so I fixed that, but otherwise, untouched.
Honestly though, it's because Greece is just that beautiful. No edits needed.
