happy holidays!

Hi everyone! Happy Holidays!
Hope all of you have been having a great time celebrating the holidays.

via the little things we do
1.   New Years is   the start of a new year! I always find it refreshing and exciting.

2.   One of my New Year's resolutions will be  to figure out something that I'm really good at and find a career area that incorporates that thing. :)

3.  A New Year's resolution I've made in the past was to ...I rarely ever make one.

4. The most time consuming resolution I ever made was  is it sad that I can't remember if I have. Oh well.

5.  This year I will be spending New Year's Eve  (hopefully) out with new friends I've made here in Oregon! Can I just say, I really want to get dressed up and go out. I already have an outfit planned.

6.  If I could wish one thing for my new year it would be  to travel to more new places!

7.  2012 is going to be  interesting.

ps I'll be back to posting when it's 2012! I've got lots to show you guys.

Sorry I've been neglecting my little blog here. It's been a hectic few weeks. Plus, I ended up getting a terrible head cold last week that was pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty much all better now though. I also got some not so great news yesterday, so serious job hunting starts now. (If anyone knows of any openings in the Portland area please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated!)

On a much better note, my parents fly into town tomorrow night for their Christmas vacation and tamales are being shipped up here as I speak! Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without my family...and tamales. haha.

Hope all of you are having a great week!

a colorful winter

I keep noticing that, for most of my outfits lately, I've been gravitating towards black and charcoal grey. So I'm trying to find some winter color inspiration.

Possibly adding a coat like this one into my closet will bring some color into my winter wardrobe...
coat: Old Navy

How are you guys incorporating color in your outfits this winter??

hood river adventure

After my great morning that I posted about last week, my friends and I decided to have a little adventure to Hood River. One of them is from Florida and had never seen snow, so we went up to Mt. Hood so that he could see lots of it.
what I wore:
scarf: UO; cardigan: J. Crew; top & pants: Gap; jacket: Columbia Sportswear; boots: Sorel
(actually, we are all wearing Sorel boots)

It was a fun trip to Hood River and a great day off from work!

good morning

Today I woke up with sun shining through my blinds. It seemed so strange to me that I kind of was wondering if I had slept in till the afternoon or somehow got back to Texas. But no, I was still in Oregon and the sun was actually shining. I got up and opened up the blinds some more and this is what I saw...
There was frost/snow on the ground! Crazy, huh? I really wasn't expecting to see that.
Then I decided to have breakfast in bed.

It's been a good start to my day off from work
and I think I'm liking this whole middle of the week weekend thing.
