This day last year I was on Fall break and about to take a night train to Athens (Greece), to then be on my first destination to Rome, Italy. (I was studying abroad last Fall semester) So I'm dedicating this post to the wonderful experiences I had in some of the most magnificent places! I miss traveling and Europe so much.

I want to go back so badly! Hopefully I'll get to travel again soon. :)

sick days

It's not very surprising that I'm sick right now, so close to Halloween. As a kid, I always ended up sick for this holiday, that most people are kind of obsessed with. This created, for me, no desire to ever really celebrate it and I've never been that big into candy.

So I've been sick all week. Lost my voice and had a presentation to do in one of my classes, not a great combo by the way. Anyway it's been productive though, since I'm drinking any hot tea I can get my hands on, and finally found exactly what to do so that tea actually tastes like something. Milk and sugar does wonders! Now you may be wondering why I never did that in the first place, but let it be known, I've never needed to have hot tea. The deep South Texas weather was never really cold enough to make it a part of my life. I'm learning to really love it though, especially since I'm not a fan of coffee. :)
apple tea in Istanbul, Turkey. It's amazing!

Now this picture, below, is what was going on outside my window about an hour ago. Hail, rain, and lots of wind! It was intense.
I think I'll take a nap now, sounds like such a good thing with this stormy weather.

lazy saturdays

I have spent my entire Saturday at home. Caught up with my shows that I missed this past week (The Office, House and Glee!), took a nap and then cleaned my room up a little. Overall, it wasn't a complete waste of a day.

Now, I've been spending my time looking at a bunch of other blogs and window shopping online. I have been falling more and more in love with J. Crew everyday I go look at their website. They just keep coming out with the prettiest things!

food club! :)

Another day during fall break, my friends and I decided to cook again.

My friend, Pilar, made us some legit tacos! It was delicious.

We also made chocolate chip pumpkin muffins, which I found at the lovely blog cupcakes and cashmere.

Can I just say that this is such a great recipe! The muffins taste like fall weather and thanksgiving wrapped up in a muffin! Seriously go try it. :)

dancing in the moonlight

Well this past weekend was fall break! It was a much needed little holiday. I didn't get to go travel anywhere (sad day), but I still had fun with some of my friends.

Friday night we decided to cook lasagna and my awesome cheesecake! haha.

Okay, so I'll give you the recipe for the best no-bake cheesecake ever! No, really it's no-bake.

1 brick-shaped package of cream cheese
1 8 ounce container of cool whip
3/4 cup of sugar or sweetened till desired
1 pre-made pie crust (such as keebler graham cracker pie crust)
1 can of cherry pie filling (any other type of pie filling would work, but cherry is usually the favorite or you can use none)
So pretty much just put the cream cheese, cool whip, and sugar in a bowl and mix until it becomes really smooth. If you have electric beaters it really helps. Then put the cheesecake filling you just mixed up in the pie crust. Add the filling on top and then refrigerate until desired.

I think it tastes best when it gets really cold. You can check if its hardened enough by putting your hand on the bottom of it, if it still feels really soft let it sit in the fridge a bit more or put it in the freezer for a few minutes.
Enjoy. :)

After we scarfed down our food, literally, we got ready to go to the D'Venue Ballroom dance party. It's pretty much a party/get together kind of thing and they play all types of music so that you can dance salsa, west coast swing, tango, bachata, waltz, and so on. It's a lot of fun. :)

art & argentine tango

Yesterday I went to the first friday art trail, which I haven't been to in ages. It was fun, but since my friend and I needed to go somewhere else after, we went through it at a ridiculous speed.

After the art trail, we went to D'Venue to a ballroom dance party. Sounds random but it's so much fun. There's a lesson at the beginning and this week it was Argentine tango! Let me just say that the Argentine tango is awesome! I love it. I have always wanted to go to Argentina to learn it and experience the place that originated this form of dance, and now I want to even more. :)

Anyway, that was my Friday night. It was a fun one.

So I want to go shopping. Haha. When do I not? But I know I really shouldn't, so I've been window shopping online. :) Right now I'm really wanting some new dresses/tunics, plus this camel coat and moccasins from J. Crew.

Can I just say how much I've been really loving J. Crew lately. I wish I had more money to buy all the lovely stuff they have.

Well, I should really attempt to get some studying done, but I'll probably end up on facebook or looking at other blogs. Haha.

So this is the start of my blog. After debating for ages if I should get one, and here it is.

And it's officially October now! What I would like to know is, where the heck August and September went? Let the stressing/freaking out commence. I'm officially graduating from college in 11 weeks!

Now if only we could have some real cool-ish fall weather. I've been waiting ages to start wearing boots, scarves, and cardigans like its nobody's business! haha. :)

amazing boots!

love this so much!
